Optional Memorial of Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Virgin and Martyr

Saint Benedicta wrote and believed in God’s providence down to every detail, so much so that, as the Nazi regime began to occupy Europe, she understood her fate as a Jewish convert to Christianity. She died willingly and desired to be united with Christ on the Cross while also offering herself as a sacrifice for her people.
