Mary’s divine motherhood results in giving her an important role to play in the Incarnation of the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity. Her “yes” to God’s invitation, conveyed by the angel (Luke 1:26-38), led to her becoming the sign that Jesus is both God and man. On this Octave of Christmas, our remembrance of Mary’s divine motherhood expands our Christmas joy as God’s adopted children, to which St. Paul refers in the Letter to the Galatians.
