The mission of the Office of the Chancellor is to support the role of the Bishop in his ministry as Shepherd of the Diocese of Cheyenne.
In the Diocese of Cheyenne, the Chancellor assists with the governance and administration of the diocese and serves as the principal ecclesiastical notary of the diocese, as well as a notary public. As the diocesan archivist, the Chancellor gathers, arranges, and safeguards the acts of the curia in the diocesan archives.
The Chancellor often has other duties at the discretion of the Bishop. Practically, the smaller the diocese, the more diverse is the role of the chancellor. In the Diocese of Cheyenne added responsibilities include drafting and receiving Letters of Suitability, management of the Administrative Handbook, participation on the Clergy Assignment Council, and Safe Environment Coordinator.
It is an honor to serve the Diocese of Cheyenne.
Please feel free to email the chancellor at [email protected]
